Reliant Energy serves more than 1.5 Texas customers with retail electricity. Like many Texas electric companies, Reliant Energy Texas offers both residential and commercial plans. Residential customers have access to both fixed-rate plans and month-to-month flex plans through Reliant, as well as a new program called Cap-and-Save. Reliant Energy Assistance

Reliant Energy provides energy assistance through a variety of programs, aimed at various members of the Texas community who may need help with their electricity bills. Solutions for low-income families from Reliant Energy include a deposit program that provides hundreds of thousands of dollars to agencies to help Reliant customers pay their electricity deposits. Reliant energy also participates in the CARE program that provides qualifying customers with one time annual assistance through non-profit social service agencies in our communities.

Reliant Energy Environmental Programs

Home weatherization initiatives and the PowerHouse program from Reliant Energy help low-income customers make energy efficiency improvements to their homes. Reliant Energy also sponsors a solar and wind buyback program for residential customers and independent school districts that use Distributed Renewable Generation systems, such as wind turbines or solar panels.
